ROB''s first SLAM encounter
"I am actively involved in kayak fishing and soft bait tuition. Being an artist and spear fisherman, too, I have a huge love for the ocean and will only use products that will not harm the environment, so only biodegradable will do (not plastic).
Because of a continued success and trust in another product type I found myself very reluctant to alter this in any way. That was until I was recently introduced to the new Stimulate Slam range of soft baits.
On the first day I tested the Slam soft baits, I was guiding a kayak fishing charter with three anglers, all using the Gulp soft baits.
During that day of fishing, I found myself getting a flow of nice fish while the others did not have the same immediate success that I did:
At a stage, we found the fishing quiet so I had a paddle around trying to locate some fish but with no luck.
As the tide turned we returned to the original spot where we had previously had good success at. I cast out my Slam soft bait along with the others and immediately, I hooked up on a nice fish of ten pounds.
What followed was an amazing two hours of fishing and we all caught fish. However, I was catching them more consistently (every cast) and they were bigger, the largest being fourteen and a half pounds.
One thing I really noticed about using the Stimulate Slam soft baits was that the strikes from the fish were a lot harder in comparison with Gulp. Another advantage is that these baits are made in New Zealand as well as across the ditch and I would support local industry any day over products manufactured further a field (Buy NZ made).
The Slam soft baits will be slightly cheaper as there are more soft baits in the packets compared to other products.
Anyway the point is: they worked extremely well and I look forward to future fishing with them."
