Milan and Nikolaj kept on meeting each other whenever they went out to any new, most secret and hardest accessible fishing spot.
Soon they realized that it was smarter, cheaper and a lot more fun if they just teamed up and shared their knowledge with each other.

Both Milan and Nikolaj are key writers for the New Zealand magazine, Fishing Coast to Coast, and they now spend more or less all their time on the water catching monsters and photographing for their articles.

Milan and Nikolaj acknowledge that this fishing effort could not be done without the support from their sponsors including Bite Time Baits (SLAM), Raymarine, E-Tec, Top Catch, Fishing Coast to Coast, Avet Reels and Daiwa.

A step further..

In 2008 Milan and Nikolaj started Gillplate Productions Limited. It all started with SLAM asking them to produce a DVD introducing SLAM soft baits to the New Zealand market. A year after, Gillplate is full steam ahead with new productions lined up for the near future.

"We were pleasantly surprised when SLAM asked us to make their DVD. None of us were known as soft bait anglers, so we didn’t seem to be the obvious choice, we thought.
Looking back now, we understand why SLAM wanted someone like us to go and test fish their new softbaits:
We know where the good fish are, so it would be an interesting experiment to see if the SLAM soft baits would produce the strikes."

Loaded with the full range of SLAM soft baits, Milan and Nikolaj started out their mission to put themselves and the SLAMs to the test.
"We fished them hard for a month and were absolutely amazed by the numbers of quality fish that fell for the SLAM every day.
We fished our big snapper spots and caught amazing fish. We landed 2 monster kingfish that could not help themselves as we presented a big SLAM in front of them. Trophy trevally as we have never seen them before came from miles around to get a taste of this new delicatessen and the success continues."

We are all looking forward to the release of the SLAM promotional DVD in November 2009.
